Hello, I'm Mia M.
Aloha, I’m Mia—born and raised on Maui. I offer personalized childcare and family support for visitors who want to actually relax and enjoy their time here, knowing their kids are in good hands. I’ve been working with kids for over 15 years—everything from nannying and tutoring to teaching. I was a special education teacher for elementary-aged students, and I have a lot of experience supporting kids on the autism spectrum, with behavioral needs, and different developmental styles. Every child is different, and I meet them where they’re at. I also spent 15 years working as a snorkel boat deckhand here on Maui, so I’m very comfortable around the ocean and in high-energy environments. I bring that awareness and calm into everything I do—whether we’re at the beach, out on an excursion, or just having a chill day. I have a Master’s in Social Work, with a background in psychology, early childhood development, and education. I’m fully certified in CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Child Care, and I take safety seriously without making things feel rigid or stressful. What I offer goes beyond just childcare. Mia was wonderful and really went above and beyond to make our family's stay special. Not only did my wife and I get some time to ourselves but our 3 kids got to learn about Hawaii, do arts and crafts, and play. They were in really safe hands and begged for more time with Mia! Very highly recommend.

Mia was playing an interactive game with my daughter in the pool where they were using their imagination. My daughter was laughing and having so much fun. She also engaged with my daughter to learn more about her interests. She loves art and reading. Mia incorporated both of her interests on our next time working with her. She brought art supplies and we added on an art activity for Mia to do with my daughter. Before leaving Mia suprised my daughter with books about her favorite things princesses, fairytales and also local books she had picked up sharing about Hawaiian culture in a fun way. She even found a special book for Mom, Mahalo Mia!!!

Mia helped us get groceries snacks for our hotel room and essentials for kids like diapers. She used her fast pass and grocery memberships store to save us even more money. She delivered everything to the room which was so helpful. Would recommend Mia for your errands.

Mia was great to work with from the very beginning. She was responsive and helpful in scheduling times to have extra help at our resort hotel with my two young children while my husband was here for a work trip. My daughter is 4 and usually is shy with new people and she warmed up to Mia right away. Same with my 1 year old son. You can tell she is enjoys working with children. We felt comfortable that our kids were in good hands so we added on more time with her so we could have a Mom and Dad dinner kid free that evening. When we got back to the room our son had fallen asleep on her shoulder and our daughter was singing songs with Mia. We had such a great experience we booked more time with Mia for other days during our trip.
